Users of Wimdu, the famous German website that connects travelers from over 140 countries and 2,000 cities worldwide, rewarded the hospitality of North Sardinia and voted Badesi as being among the top 10 summer destinations of Italy for hospitality.

“Travel like a local” is the slogan of the Wimdu tourist portal which was created in Germany and which has attracted the attention of over 100,000 visitors from all over the world. Thanks to their preferences, Badesi has entered the top 10 most hospitable Italian summer destinations.

It is not only the ability to welcome guests that has been recognized but also the beauty and charm of its nature:“Badesi allows you to discover it with its endless beaches of fine sand and its crystal clear waters. Seeing is believing!”

This Gallura resort town, located between the historic city of Castelsardo and the fishing village of Isola Rossa is in fact famous for the beauty of its beaches, including that of Li Junchi which is among the longest in Sardinia. A stretch of fine sand about 8 kms long and crystal clear transparent water with a thousand different colours. Every year surfcasting, windsurf and kitesurf enthusiasts from around the world gather on this beach to compete in fierce, hard-fought competitions and international contests.

A stretch of fabulous yet still unspoilt coastline that is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in Northern Sardinia, with sand dunes that stretch down to the sea and on which splendid junipers and scented Mediterranean maquis grow, as well as flourishing vineyards which produce an excellent Vermentino.

Badesi is also known for its summer carnival that every 13th August for almost thirty years sees the participation of thousands of locals and tourists in a fantastic street party with floats and masks that parade through the town’s main streets until late.
