Masks and floats together with folklore and Brazilian rhythms

A new event and night out with the long and eagerly expectedBadesi summer carnival  as it celebrates its thirtieth edition: the night of 13th August, under a beautiful starry sky and a pleasant summer breeze, floats and colourful masks invade the streets of the old town for a party which will last until dawn. Order of the day: have fun.

The commitment madebyso many people in the town to create these enormous papier-mâché figures is repaid with an exciting evening for young and old amidsta shower of confetti and well-known carnival music. The parade starts at 21.30 and will be accompanied by a rousing group of Brazilian dancers, groups featuring traditional masks from Calangianus and Cuglieri, as well as spectacular displays of Capoeira presented by the Oxsossi group from Cagliari. At the end of the parade the party continues into the small hours to the sound of music by the Holliwood band.

What is special about this event? The Badesi Summer Carnival is a very popular event with tourists who enjoy the folk traditions of Northern Sardinia: many of them take an active part in the parade, making the atmosphere and event even more cheerful and colourful. Don’t miss it!
